PIRI, in partnership with the EU-funded Path2Integrity project and the European Network of Research Ethics Committees (EUREC), hosted an immersive online training for 43 undergraduate and PhD students from Ghana, Kenya, and Zambia.

The four-day program aimed to instill a culture of integrity in academic research, equipping participants with tools to navigate ethical challenges in data management, authorship, and collaboration.
The interactive sessions, led by EUREC experts, blended case studies, dialogical methods, and FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) to address real-world research dilemmas. Participants engaged in collaborative problem-solving, with a focus on Africa’s unique research landscape. By the program’s end, all attendees received EU-branded Path2Integrity certificates, celebrating their commitment to ethical scholarship.
This initiative laid the groundwork for PIRI’s ongoing efforts to promote research integrity across Africa. Plans are underway to expand these workshops, ensuring future generations of researchers uphold the highest ethical standards.
