🌟 Meet the brilliant minds behind the Pan African Institute of Research and Innovation! (From right to left)

👩🏫 Akufuna M. Mubitana (Lecturer & Head of Department for Development Studies): Deeply interested in the welfare of vulnerable groups in society, like women and children. Her previous work in relation to this; “Child Labour and how it disadvantages children in the educational context”, gave her a strong foundation in critical thinking and analytical skills. In relation to this subject, however, and of particular interest to her currently is; “The participation of children in hazardous occupations and how this disadvantages their development”.

💼Manasseh Mwanza (Lecturer & Head of Department for Banking and Finance): The research interests span corporate finance and investment management, with a current focus on sustainable finance. Building on prior work in corporate governance and unit trusts, my PhD research investigates the crucial role of Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) in facilitating the growth and accessibility of green finance initiatives, particularly at the grassroots level. @manassehmwanza

🧠 Dr. Aubrey Chikonde PhD (Lecturer & Head of Department for the Department of Postgraduate Studies): Research Interest: An expert in Social and Political studies as well as Philosophical studies. @aubchiko

👩🔬 Annie Yiwombe (Lecturer / Research Coordinator): Dedicated to Environmental Management and Sustainable Development. This covers issues to do with climate change, eco-friendly and smart solutions, waste management and disaster risk management.

🌍 Jiaming Li (Research Intern / External Relations Associate): Joined in PIRI in March 2025 and has main duties in research assistance, external relations and promotion management. @_jiaming_liii
